A Story of Hope, Love and Restoration When I was 10 years old my parents adopted my brother as a 2 week old baby, a baby I really wanted to name Christopher. While my parents chose a different name, my relationship with my brother grew and we remain close even as adults. "Christopher" and his wife adopted their first child two years ago and have started a journey to become a foster family. The passion they have for the children in the foster system has spread through our entire family. Not only can we not wait to be a part of their journey, we have made the decision to join them in providing a small token of hope and comfort during the very difficult situations these children are thrust into...and we invite you to join us! THE CHRISTOPHER PROJECT The Christopher Project was created to help bring awareness to a need for foster care families and to help by sharing comfort to children who find themselves in need of foster care. We would LOVE to partner with you to give a gift of comfort to help settle children in these times of turmoil as well as provide a backpack to carry necessary things to various locations as they relocate. We have created a Christopher Collection of premium plush stuffed animals that are weighted and infused with lavender grown here at Sweetwater Farms. We also know many children leave their homes without their belongings or a way to carry what they have, so we are including a cotton, zipper front, backpack to go along with every bear we provide. We hope the a soft bear and the calming scent of lavender will possibly ease the stress and anxiety these children face and leave them knowing they are loved.

More About the Foster Care System Foster care is a temporary service provided by States for children who cannot live with their families. Have you ever really thought about Foster Care? We all know it exists, but have you truly considered the impact a situation can have on all involved...the biological parents losing their children, the foster families taking in and caring for those children, or the children themselves being relocated away from their home and everything they know. I ask you to take a moment now and seriously consider how you would feel as a child heading off into unknown areas, unsure about your surroundings, and having no choice in the decisions being made for you or the circumstances where you find yourself? Scary, right? FOR THE FOSTERED CHILDREN...HOPE Often, foster care can lead to brief moments of peace and provide a loving home while they adjust to their current circumstances. It can also potentially allow the children's families to strengthen and resolve their problems. For some, their foster care placement ends in adoption. It gives these children hope for a better future.
FOR THE FOSTER FAMILIES...LOVE Many foster families consider fostering a calling and a way to serve and show love to children in their communities by providing them a safe place during what is a traumatic time of their lives. While not everyone may be able to open their homes to these children, there are many who walk beside these families to support and encourage all involved. FOR THE BIOLOGICAL PARENTS...RESTORATION The biological parents of the fostered children are given resources, mentors, classes geared to help them maintain or enhance the family bond, and support as they work toward a goal of reintegration.
